Pokémon 2020 is coming and Pokémon GO is filled with special events

Pokémon GO is still one of the most popular mobile games today, although it was released in the summer of 2016. The Niantic star play, based on the successful Nintendo franchise, continues to incorporate new features, updates and celebrations and events with which to maintain its large mass of users. However, Pokémon 2020 is approaching, so from Pokémon GO they have taken the opportunity to announce the special events and news of that date.

The team responsible for Pokémon GO has communicated, through the official website of the game, that Pokémon 2020 arrives and that the augmented reality game is full of special events and news. On February 27 of each year, Pokémon Day is celebrated, as it is the date on which the first video games of the franchise were launched in Japan in 1996. To celebrate, the Niantic title prepares a special event.

An event that will take place from Tuesday, February 25 until Monday, March 2, and in which some Pokémon will be partying. That is, Pikachu and Eevee with party hats will appear in the wild, while Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle will look the same festive look and can be purchased from 7 km eggs. There is even the possibility that some of these pocket monsters are shiny or variocolor.

Armored Mewtwo returns for a limited time to Pokémon GO

But that”s not all, since on the occasion of the arrival of the Pokémon movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back — Evolution to Netflix on February 27, Pokémon GO has announced the return of Mewtwo with armor, along with the Mental Wave attack of Psychic type, to the five star raids for a few days.

In addition, on the occasion of these two events, special clone Pokémon, including Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, will appear in four-star raids. Finally, special raids of Gengar and Nidorino have been announced for March 1. The first one will appear in the four-star raids, while the second Pokémon will appear in the two-star raids.
